I have been having issues for weeks with downloading FASTA of all hits after conducting a BLASTP. Any idea when/how this can be resolved, please? Screen shot of error attached.

I’ve been having a similar problem:
Did you get this error when searching a database of predicted protein sequences potentially containing * for stop codons?

Yes, there are some * characters in the database. It is peptides derived from a genome assembly.
Okay. It’s a bug in BLAST really that has affected us for a while. As of now you can work around it by removing the * from the sequences.
